Using different bedside tables on either side of a bed
Share
Different bedside tables can work together when their heights, visual weight and everyday functions are deliberately balanced.
Plan the layout and dimensions
Measure the space on each side of the bed separately. One side may have a doorway, radiator or wardrobe that calls for a different footprint. Compare tabletop heights with the mattress and check access to sockets. Choose a shared feature, such as material, colour or shape, without requiring every detail to match.
Check everyday use before ordering
Give each person the storage they actually need and plan the lamps as part of the pair. Equal lamp heights are optional, but switches and light direction should work from each side. View the arrangement from the entrance to check overall balance. If one side feels crowded, reduce the accessories before replacing a functional table solely to create symmetry.
