Buying sofa modules in stages
Share
Buying modules over time can spread a furnishing project into stages, but compatibility and future availability need careful checking.
Plan the layout and dimensions
Choose a complete target layout first and identify the smallest arrangement that works on its own. Check that the initial combination has the necessary end units, finished sides and connectors. Record the exact range, module references, upholstery code and orientation. A similar colour name or shape is not enough to establish a match.
Check everyday use before ordering
Ask which components are available now and whether the supplier publishes a compatibility guide. Future range availability cannot be guaranteed, and fabric batches may differ in appearance. Decide whether the first purchase would still suit the room if expansion became impossible. Keep a second layout option that uses the original pieces comfortably rather than relying entirely on an unconfirmed later order.
