Refreshing a living room with seasonal textiles
Share
A seasonal textile update works best when it starts with the room’s fixed colours and a clear storage plan.
Plan the layout and dimensions
List the sofa, flooring and curtains that will remain in place. Choose a small change in texture or accent colour that relates to those elements. Try cushion covers or a throw before replacing larger pieces. Check dimensions and care requirements so the new textiles suit the furniture and can be maintained with the equipment you have.
Check everyday use before ordering
Keep removed items clean and dry before storing them, following their care labels. Record which covers belong to which cushions. Avoid buying several unrelated patterns at once; test one combination in the room first. When changing a rug, treat size and safe placement as a separate decision from colour. The update should preserve normal seating and walking space, even if the room’s mood changes.
