Reducing lamp reflections on a television screen

Check television reflections from the seats you use, because a lamp that looks well placed from the doorway may reflect directly on the screen.
Plan the layout and dimensions
Observe the screen with the room lights on at the time you normally watch television. Test the sofa’s centre and outer seats separately. Note whether the reflection comes from a visible bulb, a bright shade or a nearby window. Move one portable lamp at a time and compare the result before changing the whole lighting arrangement.
Check everyday use before ordering
A lower brightness or different direction may help, but only use dimming when the lamp and bulb are compatible. Keep enough light for safe movement through the room. Avoid solving a reflection by placing a cable across the walkway. If moving the television is an option, check the view from every seat and the stability requirements of its stand before settling on a new position.
