A green sofa in a neutral living room
Share
A green sofa can become a clear focal point when the surrounding colours and furniture remain easy to read.
Plan the layout and dimensions
Compare the green upholstery with the undertone of the walls and floor. A muted olive, a pale sage and a deep emerald will create different relationships with wood and neutral textiles. Test the actual fabric where the sofa will stand. Choose the largest surrounding surfaces first, especially the rug and curtains, before collecting small accents.
Check everyday use before ordering
Repeat a related green or a complementary neutral in one or two smaller objects rather than trying to match every item exactly. Keep the scale of patterns in mind: a strong sofa colour and a busy large rug may compete. View the arrangement from the doorway and from the main seat. If it feels crowded, remove an accent before adding another colour.
